It's official.
The year 2011 goes into the record book as the rainiest year ever in Lexington.
When rain began falling on the Bluegrass overnight, we lacked just over one-half inch to break the long standing record of 65 3/4 inches set back in 1936.
The record fell before 6 a.m. Tuesday. According to the rain gage at Blue Grass Airport, about six-tenths of an inch had fallen.
November stands as the second wettest November on record and April 2011 now counts as the wettest April of all time in Lexington.
