LOTS of Debris near Burnside Marina

Post by KYCanuck »

I noticed today that there is a LOT of Debris in the water around Burnside Marina and the mouth of where the Cumberland River joins. It is a REAL mess and the water is a lovely Chocolate Brown color.

I guess that is the result of the many inches of rain we received. I'm glad I am not boating in that!

Marina/Ramp: Usually put in at State Dock or Ali II, I can be at the lake in 1 hr. 45 min. But we boat on the Ky River, Taylorsville Lake, Green River. Ect.....

Once it all settles to the bottom you'll never notice it.

You will still be boating in it, you just won't notice it. ;)

Marina/Ramp: Currently mostly out of Jamestown but spend a lot of time at the other Marinas.

Pre2012-Conley Bottom Mostly, Waitsboro, Alligator I&II ramps, Leesford, Pulaski County Park (when it has water), Grider, State Dock (via boat), and Jamestown are a few places you might find me.

Hopefully most if it will settle on the shoreline and get burned. I hope they have a good project underway for this year. I saw a lot of progress around Conley with the debris

Took the boat from CS to State this weekend. Saw a few season enders out there but didn't hit any. However, as I was pulling around the dock to my new slip, the port engine overheated big time. The water is very murky and I couldn't see anything wrapped around the drive. I'm assuming I took in some small debris and smoked the impeller. I didn't have time to look into it so I'll have to tackle it on my next trip.

You can say that again. It was a little tricky backing in the slip on one but with Chillin's help we got'r done.

___, do you remember on the last cruise on the $pare Change. I had to bring it in and park the beast with just one engine. 70' of kite to puit in a 20' wide slip.
